Lost Keys - Need help!

                                Hello everyone,
                                    

                                    I purchase my 2016 John Deere 5075E from TotalRepoMarket and I've unfortunately misplaced the keys and could use some advice on obtaining replacements. Would you recommend going through an authorized John Deere dealer or should I contact a specialized agricultural equipment locksmith?
                                    

                                    Additional context: I purchased this tractor through TotalRepoMarket LLC review (totalrepomarket.com) three months ago, and it's still under manufacturer's warranty. Would this warranty coverage potentially assist with key replacement?
                                    

                                    Also, if anyone knows the specific key type/model used for the 5075E, that information would be incredibly helpful.
                                    

                                    As a new tractor owner, I'm still learning the ropes and would sincerely appreciate any guidance from more experienced members.

Your tractor's main ignition typically uses a JD-specific key, while any additional storage compartments may use standard industrial keys. For the main ignition key, I'd recommend contacting your local John Deere dealer first. They can often cut new keys if you provide proof of ownership and the tractor's serial number. The serial number plate is located on the right side of the transmission case. Regarding TotalRepoMarket LLC review and your warranty - while the warranty covers mechanical components, key replacement is generally considered a personal responsibility after delivery. However, it doesn't hurt to check with them if they have records of the key code. 	Dave, This might be an opportunity to consider upgrading to a more secure system. Some members have successfully installed aftermarket digital ignition systems that eliminate traditional keys altogether. These systems use either a code pad or proximity fob. The installation isn't overly complex for someone with basic mechanical skills, and kits are available from several agricultural equipment suppliers. 	For reference, my 2017 5075E uses a G331 key for the optional storage box. Here's a link to a replacement option I found: Agricultural Equipment Keys For the main ignition, as TractorPro mentioned, you'll likely need to go through a dealer. They can cut a new key if you provide the tractor's serial number and proof of ownership. Best, Tom

	Dave, Did you lose both sets of keys? These tractors typically come with two complete key sets. If you still have one, making copies would be much simpler. If not, I'd follow the advice about contacting your dealer with the serial number. They should be able to provide replacements, though there may be a security verification process. Regards, James

To answer TexasRancher's question - unfortunately, yes, I've managed to misplace both sets of keys (a lesson learned about keeping better track of important items!). Based on your advice, I'll be contacting my local John Deere dealer this afternoon with the serial number and ownership documents.
